Debut by Redrow

As well as having you, the house buyer in mind, Debut also thinks about the environment. The greater energy efficiency created through the construction process means less energy consumption and less heat loss.

Many Debut developments have achieved an 'Excellent' rating in the Eco-Homes initiative, an independent labelling scheme for housing that assesses the environmental quality of a development. The scheme takes into account the broad concerns of climate change, use of resources, pollution and impacts on bio-diversity. Factors that have helped the various Debut schemes achieve the 'Excellent' rating include:

  • The redevelopment of brownfield land
  • Provision of cycle storage as an alternative to car use
  • The use of 100% certified sustainable timber
  • Use of water efficient WCs, taps and showers
  • Low energy light fittings inside and out
  • Facilities for residents to segregate their waste for recycling
  • Provision of water butts to irrigate communal landscape areas
  • High thermal insulation levels in floors, walls, roofs, windows and doors
  • High efficiency heating and hot water systems

All of these factors result in minimal carbon emissions and very low electricity consumption.

So Debut is not only good for the pocket, but good for the planet too.
